DCFC Youth Recreation Soccer

The Delaware County Futbol Club (DCFC) recreation program is run “in-house,” with teams competing against other DCFC recreation teams.  The recreation program provides an opportunity for players of all skill levels.  Players learn about teamwork and sportsmanship while having fun!  Each player receives a team shirt included with registration.

One of our goals as a club is to increase our players' development and love of the game.  Our game formats are structured to increase the number of passes and goals along with opportunities to improve dribbling skills in 1v1 encounters.  The more players are involved during the match play, the more they will have fun and develop their skills.

DCFC utilizes volunteer coaches to help make this program a success.  Coaching is easy!  Prior to the season, coaches will receive an invitation to join the MOJO app—a customized practice plan for coaches.

RECREATIONAL GUIDELINES

  • HYDRATE: Each player is encouraged to provide his/her own water bottle for each practice and game.
  • SHIN GUARDS: All participants MUST wear shin guards during all practices and games. Shin guards should be worn underneath tall soccer socks. This is for your child's safety, and he/she may not play without them.
  • BALL: Each player should have his/her own ball. Players will gain maximum benefit from practices by increasing their contact with the ball.
    • Groups 4U-6U: Size 3
    • Groups 8U-12U: Size 4
    • Group 14U: Size 5
  • SHOES: Soccer cleats are recommended but not required. Soccer cleats should be rubber or molded plastic—no metal cleats, and no toe cleats.
  • UNIFORM: Team shirts should be worn outside of all clothing layers during games. If your child wears a jacket or sweatshirt during the game, their team shirt should be on the outside. It can be very windy at the fields and colder than you may expect. Plan to bring an extra layer and/or blanket to each game.
  • JEWELRY: No jewelry, including earrings, is allowed to be worn during games or practices. Again, this is for the safety of all players.
